Charles U. Gbadouwey, M.D., FCCP

Charles U. Gbadouwey, M. D., FCCP  is a graduate of the University of Liberia Medical College. He completed his internal medicine residency at Polyclinic Medical Center in Harrisburg, PA. He matriculated to Louisiana State University, New Orleans, where he completed training in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. He is board certified in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

He completed a formal sleep medicine fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. He has additional training in anesthesiology. During his fellowship, he served as a Clinical Associate in the Department of Medicine, Tufts University, Boston.

He is presently president of Lung, Asthma and Sleep Associates, PC with offices in York, PA and Carlisle, PA. He is in active practice of pulmonary/critical care and sleep medicine. He is involved in the teaching of medical students and residents at Memorial Hospital, York, PA.

He is married to Regina and has a son, Yannick.

Pulmonology Symposium

This symposium will discuss Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency (AAT) and Pulmonary hypertension. AAT is an underrecognized genetic condition affecting approximately 1 in 2000 to 1 in 5000 individuals and predisposes to liver disease and early onset emphysema. Pulmonary hypertension is pathophysiological and hemodynamic state associated with several clinical conditions that can lead to progressive right ventricular failure and death.
